About me
I have not always been a writer. I began my working life as a horse person which led to a love of classical riding and training to develop a deeper understanding and communication with horses. I have worked as a trail guide in a remote part of Portugal to performing as Lady Guinevere with her dancing horses at a theme park. I still ride, but now simply for pleasure - and to ensure a wild kind of sanity for both myself and my horses.
My writing journey began after graduating with a Masters degree in creative writing from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, and I’ve since completed a PhD from Swansea University, exploring the healing aspects of horror, folklore and fairy tales.
I live not far from the stunning Gower peninsula in South Wales and am a single mother to an artistically talented daughter, a rescued ex Spanish bullfighting horse Chi and a fiendishly fluffy grey cat/ familiar/cryptid creature, aptly named Griffin.
Books
Sea Glass
Step into a world where the veil between the wild and the
human heart is thin, and the price of neglect is paid in
blood and madness. This searing collection of short stories
delves into the transgressive and the sensual, weaving new
myths for contemporary times that are as vengeful as they
are amoral...
Each tale is a haunting echo of childhood fables and
chilling ghost stories, reminding us of our primal need to
connect with nature, and the terrible, irreversible cost when
we turn our backs.

Paper Horses
A Reflective Memoir: surviving coercive control
From South Wales to France and Portugal, Paper Horses is a thought provoking reflection on life and coming of age tale written with both honesty and a dash of magic.
Review by award winning author Carly Holmes.
“Paper Horses is a brave, insightful and compassionate account of love an betrayal, and of just how resilient the human spirit is when it has to be. A magical blend of the horrors of a grim reality and the fantastical, life-saving inner world of a soul who will not surrender, it’s deeply touching and ultimately uplifting.”
